The United States Military Academy Cadet Glee Club of West Point and Daniel Rodriguez pay tribute to the many men and women who defend America's freedom every single day. This was the first time in history such a recording was filmed inside West Point's gorgeous century-old Cadet Chapel.
The West Point Glee Club was privileged to record a stirring CD/DVD project Stand Ye Steady. The project was brought to the Glee Club by its originator, Douglas Coppi, CEO of Curtain Call Productions, and Executive Producer and Director of the project. With arrangements and orchestrations by Donald Fraser, the concert offers fifteen "songs of courage and inspiration." Masterfully conducted by Constance Chase.
Recorded in the Cadet Chapel with Music Producer John McCracken on the evenings of October 4-5, 2004, and January 31 - February 2, 2005, the program features two special guest artists: Tony Award-winner Lea Salonga and the American tenor, Daniel Rodriguez.
The DVD includes moving commentary, historical footage and live footage of the Glee Club in performance in the renowned Cadet Chapel. Four of the songs, This Christmastide, Jerusalem, Lest We Forget, and On Great Lone Hills feature the Chapel's mammoth organ -- the largest church organ in the world! With arrangements by world-renowned Don Fraser, all the music was recorded in 5.1 Surround Sound, offering listeners a powerful and inspiring experience. Stand Ye Steady continues to receive critical and popular acclaim across the United States and abroad.
