The personal account of policeman Daniel Rodriguez, who in 2001 was already well-known as the “singing policeman” because he was not only a policeman but a successful singer as well.

Daniel attended an intensive study program at the Vilar-Domingo Young Artists program in Washington DC. 2002 – 2003

2004 NYPD Retirement
From “Singing Cop” to “America’s Tenor”, after a 2 year leave of absence, was at the NYPD pension office in Manhattan, submitting his retirement papers, officially ending a 10-year-run as a police officer.

Overnight Success, 25 Years…
You heard him during the dark days of 9/11. He was recently accepted into the D.C. Young Artists Program, at age 40. He is now singing concerts all over America. An overnight success? Hardly. He’s been paying dues a long time…

2003 “On This Day”
The United States Coast Guard Band, director Capt. Lewis J. Buckley, teamed up with recording artist Daniel Rodriguez to record “On This Day.” To debut on the National Moment of Remembrance on Memorial Day.

2002 “An American Celebration”
Annual gala at historic Ford’s Theatre, Washington D.C. introduced by Dennis Franz, America’s Tenor Daniel Rodriguez, New York’s own “singing cop”.

1977-1983 The Early Years
Daniel’s potential was recognized at an early age by Juilliard trained Elliot Dorfman, who brought him to study at the American Youth Repertory in Manhattan during his teens.
